The Department of Zoology was introduced as General Course in 2004 and the Honours Course was introduced in 2012. The Intake capacity in Honours Course is 53. The Departmental Laboratory is well-equipped with instruments and machines. From time to time the departmental laboratory is upgraded with modern equipment. The department is equipped with computer printer and scanner. Internet facility is in process. The ZOOLOGICAL MUSEUM has a rich collection of preserved indigenous as well as exotic animal species.

An Educational Tour or A Field Trip is a visit to a place away from their normal place of study. The purpose of this trip is to provide students an experience outside the class rooms or labs. Each year compulsory excursions for honours and general students are conducted by the Zoology department to various parts of the country to fulfill their syllabus oriented knowledge.
